Cochlear is constantly growing and is now in the process of employing an Electrical Engineer within the strategic purchasing department.
Your main tasks in this position will be
Responsibility for the engineering and technical aspects of the purchasing process related to sourcing and re-sourcing.
To contribute to Excellent sourcing i.e. utilize Lean, Six Sigma related methods.
Main speaking partner with the Design & Development department in sourcing and re-sourcing.
To contribute to the efficiency and speed at which CBAS source and re-source.
To work as coordinator for the Strategic Purchasers regarding industrialization of projects.
To manage resolutions of engineering issues.
To acquire market knowledge for new and alternative goods and services in order to contribute to the efficiency and productivity.
Liaising with the Quality Engineer in respect of supplier reviews and audits.
To manage the result from the supplier performance evaluations regarding quality/technical issues and implement preventive and/or corrective actions as required.
Systematic reporting of all activities between Cochlear Departments and key suppliers, covering such activities as: new technology opportunities, new product development, risk management etc.
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering and with at least 2 years of experience as a component engineer or similar. You may also have extensive knowledge within the field of electrical engineering including engineering-focused manufacturing with Lean methodologies. It is a great advantage if you have experience of procurement and/or strategic sourcing and knowledge of quality and regulatory systems for medical device companies.
You have an analytical personality with ability to see multiple relationships between parts of a problem and you are able to break down problems in a systematic way. You also have a high drive with a self going attitude and you are able to take initiatives and come up with solutions. High integrity, exceptional communication skills and strong customer service are other qualities we are looking for as well as a result oriented person with ability to create your own measure of excellence. Your skills in English and Swedish are fluent written as well as spoken.
