What you'll do
We are looking for an Environmental Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to work with our expert EHS team and Global Supply Chain Operations in Umea, Sweden to ensure a safe and healthy work environment for our Umea associates. This position is designed to provide leadership in EHS with a primary focus on activities at our manufacturing site located in UMEA, SE with additional opportunities to drive global improvements. Responsibilities for EHS manager
Take a leading role in planning, co-ordinating, monitoring and implementing EHS policies and procedures, ensuring all operations comply with relevant legislation and company standards
Manages and directs site in achieving Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) targets & objectives
Lead a team of EHS specialists that will ensure support to the different areas of the Umea site
Lead investigation of accidents, incidents, and near misses to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future
Conducts trends analysis and reporting of results against key EHS metrics (I&I rate, training compliance %, audit closure rate) to site leadership team in an effort to drive reduction in injury & illness rates
Influencing EHS culture by working closely with the business area leaders to ensure training is completed on time with effectiveness
Provide leadership to site staff, employees and EHS committees that will continue to drive a strong EHS culture
Maintain compliance with all applicable Waste, Water and Air regulations through required preventative maintenance of the equipment, recordkeeping, preparation of report and plans
Accountable for all site permits to be current and compliant
Drive EHS compliance through audits, site inspections, and process / equipment reviews to determine proactive risk elimination actions and track corrective actions to closure
Coordinate and conduct EHS training for employees, contractors and visitors as needed
Compile periodic reports to HQ, work cooperatively with EHS HQ on various simplification and risk reduction projects and initiatives
Lead efforts to maintain ISO14001 certification
Coach and support the multiple EHS Framework 2.0 Element owners/co-owners to guarantee proper deployment of the EHS Management System at the site
Partner with the broader EHS Cytiva team for best practice sharing and collaboration across sites
Who you are
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Occupational Safety
Minimum 6-10 years relevant working experience in EHS Management
Experienced in ISO14001 & ISO 45001 system and liaising with external auditors
Experienced in site incident management and managing of hazardous substance
Extensive knowledge of Swedish EHS regulations and policies.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
High standard of communication, both verbal and written
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
Fluent spoken and written in Swedish and Business level English
Able to work in a matrix environment with multiple stakeholders. Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders. Ability to relate and work with all levels of the organization
Solid Influencing skills - excellent interpersonal, consulting and engagement skill
