Macrobond is growing fast and needs to strengthen the team in Malmö, Sweden, with an experienced economist who has a deep understanding of, and genuine interest in the ambit of the profession. Your role will be to elevate in-house and client expertise, with the aim of better serving the needs of our clients.
This is a new and exciting position in which you will play a key role in Macrobond's continued success, reporting directly to the CEO in Malmö. You will have the opportunity to travel and meet clients spanning a variety of industries and positions, including central banks, ministries of finance, investment banks, and research houses.
The economist position is an expert role within the company. You will be contributing to process improvement, and acting as a "speaking partner" both internally and to our clients. You will also have the opportunity to influence your role and responsibilities.
Communication with clients on advanced matters is an important part of this role. This includes consulting with them to help them achieve the most from their work with the application. You will also be involved in discussions about new application features with our development team, and setting up and participating in seminars held by Macrobond.
Other duties include, but are not limited to, working with our data teams on the more advanced issues they face, such as how to interpret certain data and defining calculations for calculated time series. You will consult on and contribute towards creating product documentation, producing presentation material with relevant examples, and setting up curated content, such as country and market overviews.
Required Skills and Knowledge
For this position a minimum of three years of relevant experience from the financial sector is required. We expect that you have a university degree in finance or economics.
Knowledge of econometrics is valued.
Experience of working with E-views, Matlab, Bloomberg, Stata, Macrobond or similar applications is preferred.
An interest in technology and/or an understanding of databases are considered beneficial.
Well-developed communication skills are a requirement for this role.
An excellent command of the English language in writing and speaking is essential, not only conversationally, but also as it pertains to the topics of the industry.

An interest in, and ability to identify, understand, highlight, and compellingly discuss relevant events, interests and topics for our clients and target audience is highly valued.
