Global mobility is becoming increasingly important to our business. At our Global Mobility department we manage our global assignments and give expert advice regarding different types of international assignments, tax setups and immigration. Most importantly, we understand the personal issues that arise with a relocation and we ensure this process is handled as smoothly as possible, for both the business and the individual with his/her family. We do this together with relocation providers on a global scale, securing the best service anywhere on our planet. The global pandemic emphasizes even more the importance of the department, where we see opportunities to further strengthen our global workforce and to create- and strategically utilize a pool of talent with international exposure.
Challenges
To be able to achieve this, our department needs to adapt to the changing needs of the business. This is an extremely exciting opportunity for a seasoned Global Mobility expert to lead this adaptation in our global mobility program and ensure that it is more strategically aligned with our talent and business objectives to create further growth in our markets. To achieve this, you will need to work closely with your customer and understand their business, not just your own. Operational optimization and cost awareness is important, but it should not go at the cost of our agility, both in our global mobility policy, as well as in our collaboration with internal stakeholders. You will have a clear and established mandate from executive management to take more decisions locally to expedite the process, and also to optimize flexibility by reducing the number of stakeholders involved. This mandate extends to the diverse team you will be leading and you are expected to coach them in having this flexible and forward-thinking mindset.
Desired experience and skills:
* 10-15 years of professional experience
* 5-8 years of experience within Global Mobility, out of which at least 5 years of formal leadership
* Experience working as Head of/Director of Global Mobility
* Up-to-date knowledge and ability to identify trends in topics related to:
* Immigration
* International assignment tax systems
* Social security and compliance
* Expatriation compensation and benefits mobility package
* Employee experience
* Experience within a Global Mobility department with a global scope, with more than 100 active expatriate assignments at any time
* Experience with implementing and developing Global Mobility policies
* Vendor management and RFP process experience, preferably all the way to signing the collaboration agreement
* Fluency in English
* Having relocated previously yourself
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to pedagogically educate stakeholders in policy and strategy related to global assignments
* Flexibility and an agile mindset
* Ability to communicate on every level of the organization.
* Ability to explain scope and responsibilities in understandable terms to lower levels of the organization, as well as the ability to participate and add value on a strategic level with higher executive management
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and a true relationship builder with an eye on both process and person
* Extensive experience in developing succession plans for repatriation candidates
We offer:
In this role, you will become an integral part of a global, market-leading conglomeration, with room to grow professionally and further hone your skills and talents in a dynamic and diverse environment. If you are triggered by truly having an impact on the business, driving change, managing and developing people as well as processes, and being part of a transformation focused on technology and sustainability - this is the challenge for you.
