Our tech organization is a growing team of enthusiasts, and every team member plays a crucial role in our success story.

We create value in cross-functional product teams, covering the full value chain from onboarding, assortment and offering a fantastic shopping experience to making sure our customers return to shop with us. We have a modern architecture built on a headless e-commerce platform and a React + Next.js frontend, while our custom-developed core middleware is hosted in Azure using .NET Core with C#.

We are now looking for a Director of Engineering to join us on our journey.

Our Director of Engineering will provide strategic leadership and technical expertise to shape our company's technical vision and oversee the successful execution of our engineering efforts. The role plays a pivotal part in fostering a culture of servant leadership, innovation, and alignment of product teams with a shared technical vision. Our Director of Engineering has five direct reports and 16 indirect reports. The role reports to the Chief Product & Technology Officer.

What you'll do as Director of Engineering

Together with your team, develop and communicate a clear technical vision and goal architecture to align product teams with a shared direction.

Embrace the philosophy of servant leadership, prioritizing the success and well-being of engineering managers and their teams.

Lead and mentor a team of engineering managers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Cultivate a culture of innovation and creativity within engineering teams, encouraging exploration of new ideas and technologies.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to ensure technical efforts are in harmony with broader business objectives.

Guide teams through periods of change, adapting to evolving technology trends, organizational growth, and shifting business needs.

Develop and execute the company's technical strategy, making data-driven decisions to position the company as an industry leader.

Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively to maximize technical effectiveness and efficiency.

To succeed in this role, we believe you need

At least a Bachelor's degree in a technical field

A solid background in software development

Several years of experience as a leader of leaders within technology, in a product driven environment

Experience or a strong interest in working with complex business logic with high performance and scalability requirements

A solid understanding of or experience from building business to consumer products, preferably within e-commerce or retail

Have high integrity. As a leader, you have high ethical standards, practice what you preach, and stick to your promises.
