Understanding intestinal absorption - Developing an intestinal slicing method for MSI analysis and the implementation of a mucus modified Caco-2 assay
Introduction:
Understanding drug absorption in the intestine can be critical for many drug discovery projects. The kinetics and extent of absorption in the gut can be determined by both in vivo and in vitro methods. This project is about developing assays which aim to determine these key parameters.
Project:
Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) is an emerging technology which can potentially measure concentrations of compounds deep in the intestine.
It is important for MSI that intestinal tissue sections are cut to an appropriate thickness ( martin.hayes@astrazeneca.com and Dr Constanze Hilgendorf, constanze.hilgendorf@astrazeneca.com . If you want to discuss the project in more detail please use the contact details.
