Digital Modelling & Visualisation, is primarily responsible for creating digital design models and visualisation material in close cooperation with project managers, designers, studio engineers and suppliers.
The department consists of four groups: Digital Concept Modelling, Exterior Digital Modelling, Interior Digital Modelling and Visualisation & IT. In total, the department consists of around 55 permanent employees and currently around 35 consultants.
The surface design group for components is newly started. The group's main responsible areas will be the digital surface development of lamps, grills, wheels, graphics and accessories, from concept phase to the final production data release. The group's final size is not yet defined but will consist of around 10 permanent employees and around 5 consultants.
About the job
The group's responsible area will be to deliver all digital surface models, secure quality according to given standards and administrate internal design reviews of the digital models. The manager will be an important part to develop the group into the future.
The Digital Modelling Component manager reports to the Head of Digital Modelling and Visualisation.
About you
We are looking for a committed and inspiring manager who is passionate about cars. The right candidate is a digital visionary with a nothing-is-impossible attitude. You have a strong personal leadership in line with Volvo Cars values and you are highly successful in bringing out the best in others. You find energy and motivation in releasing others' potential, allowing them to grow. Thanks to your excellent communication skills you have the ability to create strong and trustful relationships.
Your background is from university, technical college or similar. You have good understanding of the software we are using (Alias or Icem Surf) and you are fluent in English.
We are looking for a candidate with several years of previous experience from both leadership and product development, preferably from automotive. In addition to your experience your personality and leadership capability will be of outmost importance.
About the assignment
As the Digital Modelling Component Manager you create magic together with your team, resource management of running projects, lead the team of surface designers, administrate internal design reviews of the digital models. You support and develop competences, strategies and working methods for the group.
This is a full time permanent position with start according to agreement.
