Overview
This role offers a profound opportunity for a committed individual to be part of the technical development of projects related to different automotive components.
The products are designed, developed, and manufactured by AC Floby AB for domestic and international automotive OEMs.
Key Responsibilities
- As part of the Research and Development Team, be responsible for the design and development activities for automotive components.
- Create and update 2D drawings and 3D CAD models.
- Work on tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Create and manage BOM for different product development projects.
- Support the Lead Engineers in the technical development of existing and future products.
- Contribute to development through the application of engineering knowledge to be able to support resolving issues during the product life cycle.
- Support the development of technical mitigations, test cases, duty cycles, and validation criteria to sign-off component and system development at project milestones.
- Support DFMEA activities and maintain and update Design Validation Plan and Reports (DVP&R).
- Provide technical support in discussions with prospective suppliers and customers.
- Contribute to CAE simulation and analysis activities (e.g., NVH, CFD, structural).
- Support process engineering and manufacturing team during the product life cycle.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Degree in Automotive, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering (BEng, MEng, MSc, Ph.D.).
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Design Release Engineer; experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Very good knowledge in 2D drawing and 3D model design; experience in GD&T drawing is a plus.
- Good understanding of engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, mechatronics, and electrical engineering.
- An analytically directed mindset, and systematic problem-solving.
- Good knowledge of systems engineering principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
- Enthusiastic about sustainability, passionate about the products developed by AC Floby.
- Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk Vault is a plus.
- Experience in NVH and/or heat transfer, and/or structural simulations is a plus.
- Experience in Nastran and/or Abaqus is a plus.
- Knowledge of the agile way of working and Jira is a plus.
