Data & Analytics Core - let's introduce ourselves
The mission for D&A Core is to Transform the data ecosystem to empower our colleagues with trusted data, which supports the Volvo Data Vision of Powering innovation and every decision with trusted data.
To support this mission, D&A Core has 5 core areas: Strategy & Transformation, Solution Partners, Platforms, Architecture, and Data Governance, working to provide what is required to enable data and analytics teams across the organization to deliver value from data, whilst fostering a culture of collaboration and data excellence.
The Data Strategist role is part of the Strategy & Transformation team where the purpose is to drive the cultural and organisational transformation required for Volvo Cars to achieve its vision.
What you'll do
As a Data Strategist you will have a key role in evolving and maintaining the data strategy for Volvo Cars. In the role you will work closely in collaboration with the Head of Data Strategy & Transformation including the D&A Core leadership team to successfully deliver on the Data Strategy.
We are in an early phase of our transformation journey so key priorities for this role is to strengthen the organization with a strategic mindset in the orchestration to further develop and execute on the data strategy implementation.
In this role you will:
* Develop and implement data strategies and that align with the organizational ambition and goals
* Active role in the implementation of a new data operating model as per the data strategy
* Have a key role in the creation of roadmaps for the data transformation plan
* Collaboration with business leaders and the data & analytics community to strengthen and to evolve the data strategy
* Conducting data assessments and audits to identify new target and opportunities for improvement
* Active role in strengthening the data literacy within Volvo Cars
* Educate and strengthen colleagues in data strategy practices
* Be an active member of the Strategy & Transformation leadership team and collaborate with other leaders across the organization.
What you'll bring
We are looking for you who has a genuine interest and passion in data, strategy, people, culture, and technology.
You are comfortable in leading through ambiguity and are empowering your surroundings to act and learn in uncertain and complex environments.
This role also includes bringing thought and change leadership to inspire and bring people along the cultural change journey and equipping our company with the right skills and cultural framework to truly power innovation and every decision with trusted data. You will bring strong experience from best practices in Data & AI strategy development and implementation.
This is the role for you with several years of experience in the data & AI space, as an individual contributor or as a leader.
You also have
* Advanced English communication skills.
* Experience working with highly visible projects in an international environment.
* Knowledge or experience of both traditional and modern Data & AI operating models
* Data & AI Strategy experience
* Data & AI Maturity Assessment
* Knowledge of or experience with Data Mesh and data product concepts
