Who you are
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our People Domain Data & Analytics team. Our team is working on creating best-in-class coworker experiences and enabling decision making on people-related topics such as people management, talent management, people planning, coworker relations, benefits and Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. We work together in cross-functional teams to keep IKEA leading in an exciting and fast-moving environment.

Our diverse and global team within Data & Analytics is growing even more and we would love to talk with you, if you recognize yourself in some of the following:
* passionate about understanding business problems and applying Data & Analytics to try and solve them
* have experience in developing data and statistics-driven solutions for real-life business problems
* love being creative and working with data through code (ideally using SQL and Python, beyond basic notebooks or scripts)
* master techniques for Data Science and can choose relevant algorithms fit for purpose, such as natural language processing, time-series analysis, boosting algorithms
* Have experience working closely with data engineers on data processing and building ETL system
* formal higher academic education in math, statistics, computer science, engineering or equivalent (at least MS or equivalent)
* have experience leading the development of advanced analytics frameworks within large organizations
* ideally have experience working in some of the following areas: people analytics, demand modeling and forecasting, scheduling optimisation
recommender systems, promotional effectiveness, sales and payments, NLP and demand forecasting (ideally in a retail setting)
* are a team player who takes ownership, builds cross-functional relationships with senior peers and loves sharing knowledge with other Data Scientists and coworkers
* proactively manage relevant stakeholders and/or teams to drive an intended outcome
* curious, self-directed and want to keep learning!

What you'll be doing day to day
IKEA is taking huge steps in its digital transformation and our People Data & Analytics team is at the forefront of building more intelligent systems for data-driven business decisions. For example, we are developing models and tools to answer questions like:
* How can we build predictive systems to improve our coworkers' wellbeing and attrition?
* How should we optimize staffing our stores to create the best possible customer experience?
* How can we help HR management with advanced analytics to take and follow-up strategic decisions and stay informed about the well-being of our coworkers?
* How can we leverage data and statistics to ensure that we are a world leader in gender equal pay?
* How can we apply a data-driven approach to understand and measure our ambition to be a humanistic, value- and purpose-driven company?

You will work in Data & Analytics together with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers and Data Stewards who join cross-functional product teams with colleagues from Technology, Product and Design to create the best possible solutions to business challenges.
