You will be a part of shaping a global IT organization in a team focused on bringing Data Science to Epiroc.
You will work in an agile environment where you will, in an iterative and communicative fashion, collaborate closely with business stakeholders, users and other development teams to continuously identify requirements and transform these into user-centric data analytics solutions.
You will use your knowledge, creativity and experience to ensure delivery of innovative data analytics solutions as well as guiding, supporting and educating the organization in how to do it themselves.
The BI and Integration team within Epiroc IT is a collective group of dedicated employees throughout the globe who pride themselves in putting forth effort and drive in implementing data analytics solutions that benefits business operations with key decision making and achieveing strategic objectives.
In addition, you will have the opportunity to grow and work with the latest cutting edge software technology and techniques.
Your mission
You will work with understanding business needs and searching and exploring for data to solve these business needs. You will be analyzing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and provide insights to improve business decisions and communicate these insights and findings to stakeholders in clear, concise, and actionable ways.
You will be guiding, supporting, and educating the organization in the ways of a Data Scientist to increase the digital maturity of the organization and helping it to become more data driven.
You will be developing and evaluating statistical and machine learning models to solve business problems. You will deploy, maintain, and monitor ML-models as well as their performance in a devops environment. You will work with optimizing and fine-tuning machine learning models for accuracy, speed, and scalability.
You will meet and talk with different parts of the organization to understand their needs that concern business problems as well as their needs of infrastructure and tools to solve these problems. You will transform their needs into an Enterprise solution that is flexible, stable, scalable and first and foremost taking the user experience and needs into consideration.
Your profile
Advanced degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics or a related field with 5+ years of experience in the field of statistical analysis, data science or machine learning.
Strong progamming skills in Python or another data-oriented language as well as hands on experience with SQL. Merit but not requirement is hands on experience working with Azure or other cloud provider as well as working in Databricks.
Great interpersonal and communication skills that reflect the desire for collaboration and understanding of business needs.
Personal characteristics including transparency: being open and honest in communication, actions, and decisions - collaborativeness: working well with others, valuing diversity of thought and constructive feedback and a positive attitude: maintaining a can-do attitude, even in challenging situations, and inspiring others to do the same.
Location and travel
Working within the Epiroc IT department offers the freedom to work at any of our local hubs. This includes Örebro (Sweden), Garland (USA), Santiago (Chile), Prague (Czech Republic), Nanjing (China), Perth (Australia), Boksburg (South Africa), Bangalore or Nashik (India).
Each of the locations offer our employees the same good atmosphere with various attributes and benefits. Some business travel will be required,10 % or less for a year. Some could be international.
