Reporting to the Head of Core Data Services you are responsible for making sure Kindred Group is always compliant with data regulations, both global and local, and security requirements, as well as supporting and identifying synergies of the efficient use of data across the group.
You will be leading and facilitating processes that support the tracking of our data in terms of what we have, where it is being stored, how it is being used and how it is being accessed.
The role means coordinating and collaborating with a range of departments and internal stakeholders to provide guidance, define and roll out processes, make sure processes are being followed, identify and act on any gaps, provide training when needed, help clarify requirements, support audits and participate in policy creation and the definition of standards when it comes to data compliance.
The scope of this position includes managing Data Governance across all of Kindred Group entities globally.
What you'll do
Define, manage and continuously execute on Data Governance standards for the Kindred Group globally.
Work with Data Compliance Owners to define and maintain our Data Governance Framework.
Plan and lead Data Governance meetings to ensure that issues are properly addressed.
Translate legal and security requirements for data collection, data sharing and data destruction into data requirements and standards.
Coordinate and implement standards and processes by setting clear requirements and give guidance to internal stakeholders how to adopt to requirements.
Design, plan and coordinate execution of both scheduled and ad hoc tests to verify that Kindred Group is consistent with policies and data compliance requirements.
Maintain a business mindset with the goal to maximise the use and quality of data by implementing efficient processes around it.
Maintain an overview of processing, data sharing and data destruction and asses their downstream impact on data integrity, compliance processes and customer experiences.
Identify KPIs and develop standards and guidelines to monitor the overall effectiveness of the data governance processes and make sure we have the right systems support in place.
Make sure the Data Governance processes improve the accessibility of data across the group. Continuously measure and report improvements and opportunities.
Identify and escalate data issues that might impact compliance and privacy risks.
Analyse and evaluate the impact of new legal and regulatory requirements on existing practices, data quality standards and compliance management solutions.
Lead the evaluation, creation, and revision of relevant policies and guidelines.
Provide guidance to business functions and legal partners for privacy-related operations.
Advise business functions on policy compliance requirements and related data quality standards and serve as a subject matter expert on the evaluation of proposed compliance solutions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as with 3rd party vendors to ensure that data access, data processing and data destruction operations meet defined standards.
Work closely with business functions to understand needs and challenges related to existing compliance management solutions.
Partner with internal stakeholders and teams to research and recommend enhancements to how to best manage data and related tools.
What you'll need
Experience in a role related to privacy, data protection, data governance, information governance, data management, or other similar role.
Great understanding of a global technical platform.
Excellent relationship and communication skills with demonstrated ability to partner successfully across levels and functions in a global business.
Experience managing cross-functional, multi-business processes and projects
Strong project management skills
Demonstrated ability to translate business issues and requirements into actionable plans, and to deliver against those plans
Understanding of the nature of Global Enterprises in the online industry and what requirements it sets on an efficient Data Governance programme.
