With your help we can gain new key insights into how we can replace car ownership and contribute to helping more people move freely, meaningfully and sustainably.
The Data & Analytics team has a crucial role in setting Volvo On Demand's data-driven agenda and is responsible for the full data strategy; ranging from finding actionable insights to building data pipelines to designing machine learning-based data products. You will contribute to and learn from this talented team of data professionals in a caring, collaborative, fast-paced and exciting environment.
Our Technology
Our data platform, as well as our backend, is fully built in the cloud using Google Cloud Platform. We ingest data into our BigQuery data warehouse using Pubsub and Kubernetes-based service. Using dbt we create structured and modeled data consumable for analytical as well as data product use-cases. Visualization and analysis is done through Tableau and notebooks. We are also building a few machine learning models using Python and an MLOps-approach.
Your engagement here will include but won't be limited to:
In your role, you will work on exposing relevant data to track large and small features. Your contributions will span across the whole data stack; ranging from pure data engineering work, such as building event-based data-ingestion services, to analytics engineering where you design datasets for analysis and machine learning. You will participate in creating a scalable data platform, work with marketing and product analytics tools as well as productionize and deploy machine learning models.
As a Data Engineer, you will work closely with the product and engineering organization, representing the data perspective in a product domain and ensuring data plays an integral role in product development. Supported by experienced Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts in the Data & Analytics team, you will work in a cross-functional and educational way. This enables you to gain insight and expertise in product development, software engineering and analytics; a combination of competencies we believe will shape you into a great Data Engineer as you grow your role and responsibilities over time.
You show experience with most of the following...
Developing data processing pipelines
Designing data models
Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, e.g. CI/CD, testing etc.
Knowledge of an OOP-programming language as well as SQL
You are curious, eager to learn, conscientious and kind
A couple of years of experience working in a data or software engineering role
You studied Data Science, Engineering or another quantitative field such as Physics, Statistics or Mathematics
Extra awesome if you...
Experienced different data architecture paradigms, e.g. Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data mesh
Developed machine learning models and/or deployed models using MLOps best practices
