Axis is looking for the right person to fill an opening position as a Customs Administrator within the Operations department.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
As a member of the Customs team at Operations you will ensure Customs Compliance both in accordance to Import and Export regulations.
Trade compliance is an important aspect in our daily work. As Axis is doing business all over the world, both Importing and Exporting in our Configuration and Logistics Centers, it is necessary that you are comfortable with working with specific requirements as applicable to local regulations. With the development of new products and continuous changes in the supply chain it is important that you have a deep understanding of Import and export regulations and a holistic view of operational effects to all areas within the organization as a change is implemented.
Your main responsibilities may include:
• Responsible for the daily customs responsibilities including, import, export requirements for shipments handled by Axis
• Advise customs brokers or freight forwarder of correct HS Code to be utilized for Axis Imports.
• Participate on Customs Audits and special projects
• Insure Customs Compliance both in accordance to Import and Export regulations
• Insure that customs brokers and logistics service providers are using proper declarations and provide correct data
• Manage and maintain record keeping system for import transactions, export transactions, Free Trade Agreements, Drawbacks and other programs according to the country's requirements.
• Control Customs invoices against imports declarations/purchases and actual commercial invoice
• Analyse import and export data as required and follow up with customs brokers to insure proper classification and compliance.
• Record Keeping responsibilities as well as general administrative duties.
• Handling of current customs compliance requirements in a timely manner.
• Back up for local customs team.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have a university degree in Economics, Accounting, International Trade or Customs Compliance. Minimum 3-5 years import/export and trade compliance experience with customs broker, customs or industry is required.
You have a good understanding of import/export requirements, both for EU and USA. You are also familiar with Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification of products, as well as rules and regulations for import and export. Specialized training in the area of customs administration and in-depth knowledge of customs statutes and regulations is also required.
It is required that you are an advanced Excel user and you are comfortable in handling and analyzing large amounts of data and report findings. You communicate very good in English, both verbal and oral. You are also skilled in Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint and other Microsoft office programs. You have a financial or general accounting background.
Furthermore we believe you are a detailed oriented and open minded team player with the ability to show initiative and continual improvement. You are also self-going and enjoy sharing your knowledge and creating new procedures to ensure that we achieve our Customs Compliance goals.
THELOGISTICS TEAM AT OPERATIONS
The Axis Logistics team has the main responsibility for movements and Customs requirements from the different configuration centres in Lund, Hungary, Prague and USA. Our main interfaces are Customs Brokers and internally within the Order Department, Shipping/Transport, Purchasing, as well as other staff within the different Configuration Logistic Centres (worldwide) and End Customers. This position has several international interfaces but also has local responsibility.
