Poolia Life Science offers the opportunity in work the Exploratory Research group at Q-linea as a Senior Scientist focusing on Microbiology. The position is a laboratory focused position but the applicant shall also have capability to function as the primary microbiological expert in the Exploratory Research group, with special focus on antibiotic susceptibility.
Arbetsuppgifter
The position report directly to Head of Research. In day to day work the position is supported by a Project Manager and there is a team of highly skilled microbiologists in the Q-linea Product Development team available for consultation and discussion. The Exploratory group work closely with Head of Research, CTO and CSO.
The position has different task and are summarized as following:
• The candidate must be willing to spend much of the time at the lab bench and enjoy experimental work as well work independently
• Work in the Exploratory Research group and focused on but not limited to development of antibiotic susceptibility tests and applications. The work is coordinated by a Project Manager
• Own responsibility for planning, executing, analyzing and writing experimental reports as well as summaries of larger series of experiments of company relevant projects
• Together with the rest of the Exploratory Research Team respond to and carry out laboratory activities, shorter as well as long-term goals requested by Q-linea Management
• Support authoring of patent applications, and potential manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals as well as assist in identifying opportunities to patent data findings to build the intellectual property portfolio for Q-linea
• Occasionally supervise scientific and technical staff as well as students
Day-to-day language is Swedish, however all documentation and reporting is done in English. Fluency in Swedish is hence not required.
Utbildning/erfarenhet
• At least 3-5 years of experience of hands-on laboratory work within bacterial microbiology, with own responsibility for planning, execution and reporting of experimental work.
• Excellent experimental design and troubleshooting skills, and robust data analysis capabilities
• Experience from working with clinical isolates from various sources
• Experience with and understanding of antibiotic susceptibility test methods
• It is expected that the candidate is used to read and interpret scientific literature
• It is an advantage, if the applicant has experience in molecular biology methods such as DNA preparation and qPCR (however not required)
• It is an advantage, if the applicant has with experience of working with virus and fungi (however not required)
