We now have an exciting opportunity for a Communications Director who will support our Nordic Marketing Company, with a particular focus on external activities. The role can be based at either one of our vibrant offices in Södertälje, Oslo or Copenhagen.
Team
You will be part of the Nordic Executive Team and work closely with the Country President and Country Directors as well as provide support for the different therapy areas. This role will also mentor and provide transformational leadership of one direct support.
This position report to the Corporate Affairs Director for AstraZeneca AB, Nordic MC, Chairman's Office & Global Sustainability. You will have a natural role in the function leadership team and work closely with the Director of Europe and Canada Communications.
Main responsibilities
This role will be responsible for external and internal marketing company related communications across the region, as well as:
* Act as Spokesperson for the Nordic Marketing Company, in close alignment with the Director External Communications AstraZeneca AB. In practice this will mean ensuring consistent and relevant coverage in relevant trade media across the region.
* Develop strategy and plan for external and internal communications to support the delivery of the Nordic MC strategy.
* Support the localization, implementation and delivery of TA related global campaigns and work with Government Affairs to ensure alignment of communications goals with business goals
* Responsible for communications on the Nordic Issues management team
* Participate in relevant trade association committees (i.e. LIF) on behalf of AstraZeneca
Knowledge, skills and experience

* Broad experience from leading a comms function for a pharmaceutical company on a national or regional level.
* Excellent knowledge of the media landscape across the Nordic region. A strong network would be an advantage.
* Strong strategic capabilities are required, this role is an integral part of the Nordic leadership team.
* Good digital skills and knowledge of technology options.
* Expert copywriting, design oversight and editorial skills.
* Proven experience of strategic management of complex issues/crises
* Outstanding understanding of the regulatory requirements in the healthcare sector.
* Experience of creating and translating scientific/technical content for a broad range of audiences.
Capabilities and behaviours
* Ability to build strong personal relationships and quickly gaining trust
* Exemplary written and verbal communication skills in English are essential. Swedish or other Scandinavian languages would be welcome. In the Nordic Marketing Company, English is our business language.
* Skills in creating content and presentation material needed.
* Problem solving - ability to resolve conflict and deal with a wide range of sophisticated problems independently
* Ability to manage conflicting priorities, partner & colleague expectations and deliver consistently high-quality outputs
* Proactive with high levels of self-motivation and personal accountability, bringing enthusiasm and energy to the team, peer group and tasks, coupled with accountability for delivery and performance.
