Volvo Group Trucks Technology is accelerating engine development and searches for engineers and leaders within engine calibration and optimization.

Volvo sees a long term continued demand for combustion engines for commercial transports. We are currently in an exciting phase of change and ramping up to be able to develop and deliver a lot of new technology to meet future market and legal demands. If you thrive in leading change towards more efficient engines, cleaner environment and like to work in cross functional teams, then we are hoping you want to join our team.

Tasks
The main tasks in our teams are to optimize the engine performance to meet our customer's expectations on quality and fuel consumption, and to comply with emission legislation. The team is calibrating engine control functions, takes part in testing and selecting combustion system components, and supports certification. Coming emission legislation requires development of advanced control strategies together with an optimized hardware. You will be an important contributor in this development.

We work in agile teams with good collaboration with our colleagues in software development and design teams. Our daily work is an exciting mix of time spent in engine laboratory, virtual testing, simulation, data analysis, creative meetings and vehicle testing. You get the opportunity to follow your calibration from draft to test cell to verification in vehicle.

We plan our work according to agile principles, where each team plan their activities in sprints and deliver solutions together as a team. We strive to have an open and honest environment within the teams, where it is easy to ask each other for support when needed.

Qualifications
Master of Science or similar technical education is preferred
Education or experience from engine and combustion development. We are primarily looking for you with multiple years of experience from engine calibration
Experience with Matlab, Simulink or similar is preferred
Fluent in English, written and spoken
License for truck (C/CE) is a merit but not a demand
Experience from working in agile teams or leading agile is a merit

Personal Profile
We are looking for persons with positive attitude and ability to interact and cooperate effectively. Since we are looking for more than one person to recruit, you can complement the team in various ways. We are looking for someone who wants to further specialize in engine testing, control and optimization. We also see that you can have the engine optimization experience and want to develop in the direction of leading and developing the team.

What can we offer you?
We can offer you an exciting and global working environment within a part of Volvo that is experiencing exciting times investing for the future and moving forward. There are plenty of future development possibilities locally and globally within Powertrain Engineering and Volvo Group.
