At Volvo Group Digital & IT (VG D&IT), we're at the forefront of leveraging data to create meaningful impact in industries worldwide. We're seeking talented individuals to join our diverse and dynamic team, where you'll collaborate with experts across various disciplines to deliver end-to-end data solutions and AI products for users across the globe.
The Data Scientist Chapter is located in Sweden (Gothenburg and Eskilstuna) . The Chapter Lead positions will be responsible for local teams in Sweden.
As a "Data Scientist Chapter Lead" with us, you'll:
* Collaborate with diverse, international teams focused on delivering value to customers and stakeholders.
* Take a holistic approach to data science, from understanding business needs to industrializing solutions and enabling continuous improvement.
* Apply your expertise across different areas and domains within Volvo Group, spanning from trucks, buses, construction equipment, to energy solutions, autonomous technologies, financial services, and more.
* Master key aspects of data science, including mathematical statistics, computer science, cloud architecture, LLMs, and relevant programming languages.
* Excel in communication with colleagues and collaborators worldwide, fluently in English and preferably in a local language.

The right candidate should be able to think and act strategically, operate, and implement change tactically, and effectively deal with ambiguity and manage change priorities in a business-focused, fact-based, and collaborative way to achieve real impact. This role requires solid communication skills and a passion for leading, inspiring, and developing people.
As a chapter lead (line manager), we expect you to develop your area of responsibility by defining the relevant priorities. We encourage the ability to drive the business forward, act upon opportunities and ideas, and transform them into value (financial, cultural, or social) for others. We create an environment where continuous improvements and learning maximize the outcome of our work.
Specifically, as a line manager, you'll:
Help to create the right environment for chapter members - Data Scientists - to develop competencies and skills.
* Coach team members and develop the chapter's expertise level by upskilling and promoting best practices, adoption of relevant technologies as well as communication.
* Contribute to the Volvo Group Data Scientist Community and enable knowledge sharing across domains.
* Manage capacity planning and new requests for Data Scientists, attracting and retaining talents.
Meriting Competencies:
* Previous managerial experience and responsibility for teams in technical domains.
* Knowledge and hands-on experience with DevSecOps and software engineering practices in the context of data science.
