hela Sverige We are now looking for a driven and analytical Category Manager for a global industrial company with a strong presence in Västerås.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in an international environment and wants to take ownership of strategic procurement, supplier management, and the development of sourcing strategies.
About the role
As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for driving sourcing and supplier strategies within your category. You will develop and implement local purchasing strategies, identify new supplier opportunities, and ensure that existing suppliers meet quality, delivery, and commercial requirements.
Main responsibilities:
Develop and implement local sourcing strategies.
Lead commercial negotiations and manage supplier contracts.
Evaluate and follow up on supplier performance (quality, delivery, cost).
Drive cost-saving initiatives and support new product introductions.
Collaborate closely with R&D, Quality, and Procurement - both locally and globally (including teams in China and the USA).
Contribute to the continuous improvement of Supply Chain Management processes and systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba).
Your profile
We are looking for a proactive and structured individual with strong communication and analytical skills. You have the ability to balance strategic focus with hands-on execution.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing.
University degree in Engineering, Economics, or Supply Chain Management.
Experience working in large, international industrial organizations.
Solid understanding of procurement processes, tools, and negotiation techniques.
Strong Excel skills; experience with SAP or Ariba is an advantage.
Fluent in English, both spoken and written (Swedish is a plus).
