CATEGORY MANAGER
UPPSALA, SWEDEN - WITH REGULAR TRAVEL TO FREIBURG, GERMANY
In this position you will be part of Thermo Fisher Scientific's Immuno Diagnostics Division (IDD), which develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma and autoimmune diseases. With 1,500 employees worldwide, IDD is the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and also the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics and has its Headquarters in Uppsala, Sweden.
As the new Category Manager you will be a key member of the IDD Sourcing team and your main responsibility will be to manage both direct and indirect purchases for the business. You will work closely with the rest of the sourcing team in Uppsala - the IDD headquarters, and also with our Freiburg site in Germany. IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL BE:
• Joining an experienced sourcing team based in Uppsala and Freiburg
• Working cross-functionally across the company with all our departments.
• Visiting the Freiburg site regularly to support them with operational purchase questions, indirect sourcing contracts, commercial organisation spend and IDM reporting.
• Responsible for both indirect and direct material purchasing, with your specialty being chemistry and antibody related products.
• Working with both strategic and operational purchasing questions.
• Aiming to achieve, and where possible exceed, your targets. * Expected to travel on a regular basis, mainly to the Freiburg site and occasionally elsewhere in the world.
• Given the freedom to work independently and manage your own time and schedule.
• Offered the opportunity to develop yourself and your career within the company.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO:
• Completed a commercial or industrial education.
• Has at least 5 years of experience from a purchasing/sourcing position.
• Enjoys working in an international environment and is able to work cross-functionally in a company.
• Can travel regularly, especially to our Freiburg site.
Has a strong work ethic and is driven as a person.
• Is as comfortable working in teams as they are working independently, and who has very good organizational and time management skills.
• Will be able to demonstrate the ability to take initiative, be resourceful, and exercise astute business judgment to drive performance.
• Can demonstrate the Thermo Fisher values - Integrity, Intensity, Involvement and Innovation.
• Is driven and works innovatively to achieve the targets set for them.
• Speaks English and German fluently.
