As CAE ENGINEER within the section CAE Vehicle and Body NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) you will perform virtual simulations and contribute with analysis and guidelines to improve the NVH attribute in our cars. Within the CAE section we are responsible for Vehicle and Body NVH CAE from a complete vehicle perspective in car programs and also for Advanced Engineering. CAE Vehicle NVH imply computing the complete vehicle (chassis, driveline and body), to analyse occupants responses due to mainly engine or road loads. CAE Body NVH imply computing the trimmed body (a complete vehicle without suspension and powertrain), to analyse fulfilment of cascaded body system targets.
The section CAE Vehicle and Body NVH is a part of Volvo Cars NVH Center. The NVH Center has the responsibility to ensure that the attribute Noise and Vibration is supported in the vehicle programs, both in terms of customer and legal requirements. Our section is among the largest CAE teams in Sweden working in the frontier of the NVH field and we work integrated in all project phases. We are now looking for a CAE engineer to strengthen the deliverables and development of next generation CAE tools and analysis.
Main responsibilities
• Perform NVH CAE analysis
• Participate in car program teams and communicate analysis results and guide the design work from a NVH perspective
• Participate in the requirement setting of the NVH attribute at system level
• Participate in the development of improved or new methods and model capability
• Participate in implementation of new software/hardware
• Lead and take responsibility in NVH CAE assignments dependent of experience and knowledge
Required qualifications
• Minimum MSc in Engineering or equivalent work experience
• Fluent in English spoken and written
• Competence in structural dynamics and/or acoustics is an advantage
• Knowledge in Nastran, Ansa, Matlab and Hyperworks is a plus
