As a Buying and Inventory Controller you are a critical player within the Buying department, being responsible for optimizing regular reports and ad-hoc analyses and participating in strategy and planning meetings. You interpret results, coordinate the flow of information, moderate the analysis and support important decision-making processes for the management. You function as a go-between between the Buying Department and the rest of the Organization and will report directly to the Group CFO.
Main responsibilities
• You act as the analytical engine and financial partner of the buying department and support from that point of view all buyers incl Head of Buying
• You will be the responsible for formalizing the budget work and also updating buying forecast on a monthly basis.
• You create transparency, generate insights and recommend actions around all process related to seasonal planning, buying, supplying and selling.
• You directly interact with the buyers and head of buying and take part in weekly trading and performance-review meetings and seasonal planning meetings
• You will engage buyers and merchandisers about pre-seasonal planning activities, in-season performance monitoring and in-season management activities
• You actively identify key findings and, based on that, give business advices
• You support the optimization of the reporting environment and define related processes
• You ensure a high level of data quality and consistency
• You also support the optimization of an IT system environment and necessary processes in order to ensure an efficient and effective planning process
Key competencies needed
• You have a degree in business administration, economics, finance or a similar subject, ideally with a focus on controlling, supply chain management or a comparable qualification
• You have first relevant experience (internships and/or job experience) within buying/retail/merchandising controlling
• You have good analytical and conceptual skills as well as a deeper commercial understanding
• Great skills in MS Office, especially in Excel especially
• Good knowledge of business systems is a plus (NAV/Power BI etc)
• Experience with database (MS Access, SQL, etc.) is a plus
• You think fast, work proactively and always keep on top of things even in a very dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Fluent in English
