Company Description
IKEA Supply Services is the organization that forms a link between the factory floor and the products on IKEA store shelves. We work with 1600 Suppliers all over the world for home furnishing, accessories, transport, logistics and distribution services, components, and food.
As Purchasing Development, we purchase the materials and the production capacity to produce both home furnishing products and food. We have more than 1,200 co-workers worldwide and operate in 27 locations, this includes 6 category areas. We are now looking for a new Business Developer for Category Area Food in our Protein-Based Category.
Job Description
As a Business Developer, you will be an informal leader of a 3-member micro-team. With a Production Engineer, who takes care of the production process and quality, and a Supply Planner, who handles the logistical side of the business. Based on the analysis, you will draw up an action plan once a year to reduce production costs and to develop better design for the customers, all within the framework of sustainability and ethical business practices.
Your assignment would include,
To develop and maintain professional business relationships with suppliers/service providers in alignment with IKEA's direction while being an ambassador for IKEA's culture and values.
To lead the overall business and deployment of sustainability roadmaps for the respective supplier, and to be accountable for price-related data, as well as overall supplier performance (including data quality).
To identify actions through the supplier development processes and action planning processes to execute the Category strategy.
To initiate changes and improvements within IKEA's supply chain and at sub-suppliers together with your team.
To develop and manage strategic relationships, negotiate with suppliers and communicate with all parties involved while monitoring market developments.
To participate in group decision-making by providing accurate and in-depth information from suppliers, and the market, offering data, scenarios, and insights to support decisions.
To represent IKEA to the supplier and act as the supplier's representative within IKEA, from an operational, tactical, and strategic perspective.
