hela Sverige ESS is at an exciting turning point. It is in the transition phase from being a construction site, to becoming an operating facility. To help us realise our goal of being the most powerful neutron source in the world, we are now looking for a Business Controller.
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Business Controller with a focus on Member State contributions. This role is ideal for junior professionals or recent graduates looking to build a career in finance in an international context.
This role is part of the Finance and Business Control (F&BC) Division at ESS. You will report to the Head of Division F&BC and closely work with the other Business Controllers, the Finance Group, and further internal and external stakeholders. You will support them with analyses and recommendations and you will enable the Organisation to understand financial consequences of planned decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Overseeing the contributions from our Member States;
• Implementing the ESS Financial Rules with regards to contributions and indexation;
• Maintaining and developing our contributions database in different currencies;
• Responsibility for the contributions data and calls for contributions within the annual budget cycle;
• Regularly reconciling contribution payments;
• Assisting in financial analyses, scenario analyses, and cash flow projections;
• Supporting the further digitisation of our business systems.
This is an exciting role in a continuously changing organisation, where focus is on both operations and project, always with financial excellence in mind.
About you:
• You have a Master's Degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a related field;
• You are a junior professional with a few years of experience in finance or recent graduate with a strong interest in finance;
• You have excellent Excel skills including pivot tables and have experience in setting up and maintaining databases. Ideally, you have worked with a data warehouse;
• You have profficient experience in Word;
• You know how to build and maintain positive relationships at the workplace;
• You are fluent in verbal and written English; having a good knowledge of Swedish is preferred.
And of course, it goes without saying you love crunching numbers!
Duration and location:
This is a fixed term, full-time position and will be based in Lund, Sweden. This role is initially limited to 3 years with the possibility of extension.
