We're now planning to roll out a Business Analytics organisation, being one important element in fulfilling our strategy.

We envisage this Business Analytics (BA) organisation to be set up in a hybrid structure, with a central Competence Center and an executive sponsorship in the Executive Management Team. Within each business area there will also be analytics competence available combined with knowledge of the business. The BA explorations will be performed in joint teams with local members from the business areas helped by the analytics competence in the Center.

We're now at the starting point looking for the business analyst:

Responsibilities:

Participate in the development of the Volvo Cars BA Strategy
Perform analysis on wide variety of data and process improvement
opportunities; uncover trends, creating and distributing various
metrics, reports and dashboards.
Provide decision-support to business people and managers by creating
reports, running queries, building predictive models - really doing
whatever it takes - to support the analytical needs
Provide advice and education in the usage and interpretation of the data
Effectively translate analytical findings into the language of decision
makers; communicate findings effectively supported by visual
representations
Participate in the creation of requirements for all parts of the data
warehouse infrastructure to support analysis (requirements gathering,
ETL, data modeling, metric design, reporting/dash boarding, etc.)

Utbildning och erfarenhet
The person we're looking for should fulfil the following criterias:

Master in applied mathematics and, statistics or related area, or
similar competence acquired outside the Universities
Analytics experience from the industry
Statistical knowledge and experience for solving business questions.
Experience with analyzing and manipulating a wide range of data.
Experience analyzing big data is a plus.
Programming competence in the area of machine learning would be an
advantage - please document which programming language
Be creative - see every problem from different angles to provide the
best solution, by help of a combination of mathematical rigor and
innovative algorithm design
Be business savvy - being able to operate in and sometimes change the
Volvo Cars mindset
Have common sense - go for the right level of granularity in every case,
and focus on the important conditions.
Being extrovert, outgoing, curious and having good presentation and
communication skills, including the ability to convince by story telling
Be committed - do whatever it takes to hit a deadline
