hela Sverige Visa alla jobb hos Stockholm International Peace Research Insti i Solna SIPRI is seeking a Budget & Finance Assistant for its growing programme in West Africa and the Sahel. The successful candidate will work on two ongoing projects, one being implemented in Mali and funded by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), the other in Niger and Chad, funded by the European Union (EU). The Budget & Finance Assistant reports to SIPRI's Finance Manager. The position is based in Stockholm but might involve occasional travel to West Africa.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
• Support the overall Sahel and West Africa Programme's budget strategy and implementation;
• Contribute to the management of budgets and financial documents, develop activity budgets, requests for funds and proposals;
• Manage the financial audits and support the West African partners with their audits;
• Support capacity-building of West African partner organizations to strengthen their abilities on financial policy development and knowledge of international financial procedures;
• Actively contribute to the logistical organisation and financial planning of workshops and events in West Africa and in Sweden, in collaboration with local partners;
• Help to identify possible activities for future projects in West Africa and support the Programme's fundraising strategy.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have the following:
• A degree (Master's preferred) in a relevant discipline such as finance or accounting and/or;
• Two/three years of professional experience in a comparable position;
• A solid knowledge of international accounting procedures and international-funded projects;
• Experience in fundraising, with proposal and grant writing skills;
• Fluency in written and spoken English and French;
• Attention to detail;
• Flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances on the ground and strong communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience working with African civil society organisations and knowledge of the region are assets.

The programme is part of SIPRI's Conflict and Peace research cluster.
