The arena
Within our Global DMPK Department, the section Screening and Profiling (S&P) In Vivo Large Molecule is responsible for delivery of quality in vivo DMPK data to support large molecule projects within the CNS&Pain and CVGI portfolios from target selection up to Dose Range Finding safety.
The role
Accountable for the timely delivery of DMPK in vivo data to support iMeds/GMD projects, including in vivo formulation support and PK bio analysis, non-compartmental PK data-processing and reporting of exposure in preclinical (side)effect studies. Responsible for design, conduct, interpretation and reporting of routine and on occasion non-routine DMPK studies. Responsible for setting and maintaining the highest scientific standards, contributing to the development of the discipline to meet future demands, and coaching line reports to maximize their potential. Effectively communicate results, plans and strategies. Participate/initiate in DMPK networks and lead scientific programs and mentor scientists less experienced in this area. To publish papers and reviews in internationally recognized journals and regularly present work at relevant conferences.
Minimum experience
Ph.D. or equivalent degree in a relevant discipline.
Is expected to have significant experience in setting up ELISA, Gyros, Mesoscale, Biacore and related assays for quantitative analysis of large molecule drugs and immunogenicity testing. Several years of hands-on experience in using these techniques.
Significant experience in pharmacokinetic data-analysis using WinNonlin or equivalent and reasonable understanding of the PK/PD principle.
Excellent understanding of the impact of immunogenicity in preclinical pharmacology studies.
Good understanding of the discovery and development process for protein therapeutics.
Some experience in leading small scientific teams containing colleagues with advanced degrees.
Track record of delivering in discovery and/or development setting.
Strong leadership capabilities with emphasis on DMPK scientific excellence.
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Preferred experience/requirements
Experience of biotherapeutic drug discovery and development process and familiarity with regulatory principles and guidelines. A flexible team player.
