We are looking for someone with the desire to teach, conduct research and supervision at all levels in Mim Acting.
As an assistant professor, you are a leader in your artistic area, the quality of activities is at the highest international level and you have a deep and broad-based knowledge of your artistic area. You are expected to engage in and lead artistic research work and be able to critically reflect on the artistic processes that are part of your teaching.
Job description
Your work tasks also include:
• Manages, plans and develops the education of students primarily in the Bachelor's Programme in Mime Acting, such as scheduling, budgeting and staffing of the teaching in the programme.
• Develops the program both pedagogically and artistically in collaboration with the department head and the college with the goal of conducting student-centered learning in which students actively influence their studies and study environment.
• Responsible for ensuring that the programme's teaching is well connected to the education and research conducted at the other parts of Stockholm University of the Arts.
• Works to develop existing and new courses and programmes in relation to other specialisations in the department.
• Works with the administration of the programme, participates in the department's development work and collaborates both internal SKH organisations as well as with external parties.
• Actively participating in the development within mim/movement-based performing arts and the societal development that is of relevance to the work at the university.
• Contributes to the development of SKH's education and research and promotes integration between them.
As an assistant professor you will have an important role in the work of building a common culture of openness and collaboration at SKH, as well as in the creation of a good work environment. You may be offered assignments for study programmes, board appointments, and be afforded the time and opportunity to pursue artistic research.
Eligibility
In order to be eligible for the position of assistant professor in the artistic discipline you have to demonstrate both artistic and teaching expertise.

This requires extensive experience in an artistic practice in mime, acting or physical theatre and in working with education. In addition, you should have those personal abilities required to competently fulfil the appointment and to be able to represent the university in a manner beneficial to the organisation.
Assessment criteria
The following criteria will be assessed, in this order of priority:
• Teaching skills; proven teaching skills in an artistic context within or outside a university context.
• Artistic expertise; breadth and depth of knowledge in the area of artistic specialisation and a good ability to develop and implement artistic research and development activities of high quality.
• Experience in managing and coordinating higher education
• Experience in administration of higher education and budgeting
• Good knowledge of English and experience of teaching in English
• Proven ability to cooperate well
Meritorious:
• Experience in higher education.
• Experience in mime/movement-based performing arts.
• Experience in dramaturgy, directing or choreography.
• Experience in collaborative working processes and methods in the field of performing arts.
• Experience of working in an international context.

You have undergone training in teaching in higher education, or expect to do so within the next three years, or have in some other documented manner acquired equivalent knowledge.
Applicants who are not proficient in Swedish, Norwegian or Danish are expected to have acquired sufficient language skills within two years to be able to work in a Swedish-speaking teaching environment.
About the position
The scope of employment is full-time position and it is a fixed period of five years, after which the period of the employment must be renewed. The total period of the employment may not exceed more than ten years. Employment to commence at the earliest of January 2023.
