Position Description
Purchasing Aftermarket Europe is a continental team of buyers in charge of continuously improving the supplier Quality, Delivery and Cost (QDC) for aftermarket business. We use tools and processes to increase the performance of the complete aftermarket value chain. Position will be located in Sweden.
Mission
• Within the Aftermarket European Purchasing team, the buyer for rubber and hoses assemblies will be responsible for the complete purchasing activities for Europe: i.e. sourcing, project and operation work for a segment with high strategic importance for Aftermarket
• Drive development of purchasing segment strategies, negotiate contracts and manage the supplier relationship, sourcing and resourcing of unique Aftermarket parts
• The buyer work in close cooperation with Group Truck Sales and Logistics Services
• Ensure collaboration with sourcing and operation purchasing
• The position reports functionally to the GCM- Global Commodity Manager
Responsibilities
• Develop expertise within the sheet metal segments (market, suppliers, competition, technologies, projects)
• Contribute to global segment strategies development and ensure implementation
• Drive development of purchasing segment strategies together with production purchasing and ensure implementation
• Manage supplier relationships and performance (quality, delivery and cost)
• Perform the activities required for the portfolio: e.g. negotiations, project implementation, total cost optimization (Quality, logistics, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain etc.)
• Negotiate contracts and manage the supplier relationship, sourcing and resourcing of unique Aftermarket parts to support brand profitability and securing uptime
• Deliver the defined KPI:s on time and in accordance with set targets (Revenues, Uptime, Project)
• Prepare, coordinate and drive supplier management meetings
• Ensure collaboration with large internal network
• Work in accordance with the Volvo processes and Aftermarket processes, the Volvo Way, and the Purchasing Foundations
Qualifications and personal profile:
• University degree in Business, Engineering or related field
• Preferably min. 3 years of purchasing and negotiation experience
• Structured with analytical and logical mind-set with proven personal efficiency
• Strong in both written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in the English language
• Personal inner drive to improve
• Result oriented with strong delivery capability
• Ability to manage the portfolio in an independent manner using previous experience
• Business and customer focus with holistic view
• Positive attitude
• Strong team player acting with integrity and takes initiatives
• Ability to build and maintain trust-based and professional internal and external stakeholder relationships
• Experience and interest in working with different cultures
• Ability to work cross functionally
