About the job
As an AI/ML Engineer at Alf, you'll play a central role in shaping and building our future AI and ML capabilities. This is a key position where you become our first technical expert in AI and ML, responsible for building and productionizing solutions that create real value for our data-intensive smart home products.
You'll belong to the Data and Analytics team and work hands-on with cross functional product teams to implement features, optimize performance, and support practical AI applications. This is an engineering-focused role: you'll bring models into production, improve our stack, and help teams apply AI effectively.
About you
We're looking for an engineer with a relevant degree who gets excited about being the first one on the scene - of course with a strong team backing you up - to build AI and ML functionality from scratch.
You bring:
2-5 years of experience implementing and productionizing AI/ML solutions
Hands-on experience with generative AI and LLM-based solutions
Strong Python skills and experience with CI/CD and MLOps
Familiarity with SQL, data warehousing concepts, data pipelines and API design
Experience using cloud AI services such as Databricks, Vertex AI, SageMaker, or similar
Nice to haves:
Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform)
Coaching or mentoring teams in AI/ML applications
You thrive in a small team where everyone chips in and takes responsibility for each other's areas. You make AI understandable for everyone, technical or not.
Naturally curious and up-to-date on recent trends within AI and ML, you're motivated by turning ideas into real, working solutions that make a tangible impact.
