A terrific opportunity to join a dynamic Additive Engineering team and to work on product designs to incorporate the ability of how Additive Manufacturing technology can drive higher performance, quality and lower cost.
Essential Responsibilities:
This position will be tightly aligned to one of the Life Sciences design teams with a clear focus on mechanical design work related to enabling Additive made components. This role will also be part of the Additive process team and network of Additive labs within GEHC and GE Additive. Another key expectation is to be an advocate of Additive and help spread the design for principles across the design team you are working with. Success will be measured on much we can transform our current designs to achieve product competitiveness in the eyes of our customers.
Support engineering teams across imagingmodalities to identify customer requirements and translate them into product requirements.
Lead design for additive activities from idea submission to concept development throughproduct feasibility.
Drive improved product performanceand quality by developing additive manufacturing cost-effective solutions, andoverseeing successful execution of Additive Manufacturing designs
Collaborate with Additive Process engineers to identify appropriate additive technologiesand develop solutions for additive designs/applications.
Lead implementation ofcommon additive manufacturing applications across GE Healthcare globally
Provide technical support to LifeSciences modalities to create strategic roadmaps for Additive Manufacturing
Support AME Additive Manufacturing COEactivities and sub-core teams; foster synergies and collaborate with EngineeringTechnical Councils to standard utilization of Additive technologies within GE Healthcare.
Leverage and expand network of experts acrossLife Sciences to drive best practice sharing, knowledge transfer, training andawareness of Additive capabilities.
Ensure regulatory compliance through Qualification & Validation. Responsible for ensuring rigor in determining processes requiring validation, development of plans and analysis criteria,execution and final analysis and acceptance
Support how Additive design controls and our QMS intersect while providing guidance for simplification and design rigor.
Qualifications/Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical or related technical degree and significant experience
Prior experience in the field of additive manufacturing
Strong working knowledge of CAD systems and CAD file management (e.g. Creo, Solidworks)
Demonstrated troubleshooting, analytical and planning skills
Ability to work independently
Demonstrated strong communication skills(written and verbal) to all levels of the organization
Ability to identify and implement Best Practices
Desired Characteristics:
MS/PHD in technical concentration/field
Strong experience in MechanicalEngineering
6-sigma DMAIC & DFSS certified
Domain expertise in the field of additive manufacturing and metallurgical technologies
Domain expertise in process intensive manufacturing (e.g. machining, joining & forming, injection molding, etc.)
Strong working knowledge of CAD systems and CAD file management (e.g. Creo,Solidworks)
Product and process development experience, preferably in Medical Imaging Products
Solid working knowledge of GEHC QMS procedures for GMP
Experience developing tools and templates
Demonstrated program or project management skills
Demonstrated experience owning production processes / growing capability in yield and quality
Experience working with global teams
Willing to travel domestic and internationally up to 25% of the time.
