The main purpose of the role is to manage all accounting related tasks of Scandinavia Area Finance. The Accounting Manager will ensure that all accounting (AR/AP activities) and compliance requirements are met and performed successfully. Accounting Manager will act as the main point of contact for the external advisors and local authorities.

Key responsibilities

Accounting and Reporting (ATR) - completeness and accuracy of the books.
• In collaboration with the ATR teams, ensure that all information and input required for period end tasks are done and complete
• Collaborate with the ATR teams to ensure all local requirements are met
• Be the primary point of contact for the ATR team in the Area
• Ensure proper support is given to improvement initiatives and controls

Compliance - ensure all controls locally are performed and completed
• Primary point of contact for internal and external contacts related to compliance matters (VAT, tax, authorities etc.)
• Ensure all local filings are done in accordance with deadlines and internal company requirements (statutory filings, statistic reports, etc.)
• Corporate and legal secretariat for specific country requirements (safeguards corporate documents including GEMS updates in absence of local legal team)
• Coordinate with Centre Legal on competition/anti-corruption/foreign trade controls
• Perform an annual internal review as per the Regional Board Meeting and report the findings to the Board of Directors
Accounts Receivable (OTC) /Accounts Payable (PTP) - lead the local staff in order to improve collection and ensure quality in payments
• Ensure voice collectors perform tasks as per minimum standards
• Assist the OTC team in successful completion on collection improvement plans
• Liaises with PTP teams for support in receiving required input from local teams related to local vendors
• Manage relationship and quality with the OTC/PTP teams
• Assist in local legal cases related to debt/ bankruptcy

Tax and VAT - Ensure local VAT and Tax reports are filed on time and accurately
• Manage local relationship with external advisors in cases where VAT and Tax is outsourced
• Keep up to date on changes in regulatory requirements and communicate such to ATR team
• Be primary contact for regional Tax Teams

Local contact for authorities - Engage with local authorities as needed (I.e. agency licenses; reporting requirements; foreign exchange control; etc.)

We are looking for

• Person qualified in accounting - ideally with a few years of strong finance/accounting and audit experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Team Manager
• Strong corporate background - ability to move in matrix structures, where stakeholders are based in many different locations
• Excellent English language skills
