Leica Geosystems Technology develops advanced systems for the construction industry and are currently looking for two Application Engineers to an entirely new product segment - a cloud service for project telematics and 3D data management for the road and construction industry. The position is diverse with interfaces on several levels, worldwide.
As Application Engineer at Leica, you are the vital link between product management and R&D. A key task is to translate market needs into product requirements. You have close contacts with the sales organization and end customers to provide a detailed picture of the customer's needs, which is then translated into clear requirements delivered to R&D. You play an important role in product development projects and you ensure that the products live up to expectations.
Another important tasks is to deliver solution training to the global sales organization and to provide 2nd line support. You also assist the marketing department with technical information for brochures and educational materials.
The position includes international travel.

Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who has an engineering degree in a relevant field, such as civil engineering, geo-science or similar. You have extensive experience in requirements management and have an understanding of the software development process through previous experience in software development projects. Hands on experience of 3D CAD software such as AutoDesk or Bentley, related to for example road design is an advantage.
As a person you are very technically minded and enjoy customer contact. Our products are aimed at the construction industry and it is important that you feel comfortable in such an environment. Fluent English both written and spoken is a must.
