Role Summary/Purpose:

The web development intern will work with web layout & design, web usability issues, and have a participatory role in search engine optimization activities. A major focus of the intern?s work will be around analyzing scripts and how to best streamline execution optimization.

Essential Responsibilities:

We are a team of project managers, content managers and front-end / back-end developers based out of Uppsala, working on maintaining and enhancing gelifesciences.com digital properties. As a web development intern, you will also be in contact with IT teams in Krakow, Poland and Bangalore, India.

Responsibilities:

Visualize and mock up prototypes & user experiences based on customer insights
Design interactions and UI details that are centered around ease of use and seeking the most optimal user experience
Working with web layout & design, web usability issues, and have a participatory role in search engine optimization activities
Full cycle of JavaScript front-end development. Includes understanding of object-oriented JavaScript, and common JavaScript libraries
Maintaining complex JavaScript front-end projects. This includes the ability to structure JavaScript code, delay loading, and execution optimization
Keep up to date with market research and insights

Qualifications/Requirements:

Experience within UX, IxD and graphic design
Good command of HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript
Experience working with shared code repositories
Experience working with Gulp
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work independently as well as with a team
Excellent written English skills
Ability to work on multiple projects at once

The internship is for six months and begins August 15th, 2016
