Europaskolan is an international school which consists of two units, Vasastan teaching grades 0-5 and Södermalm teaching 0-9 grades. Each unit also contains a pre-school. The school, which follows the Swedish and the International Baccalaureate (IBO) curricula, gives extra focus to the theaching of English and Mathematics.
The unit i Vasastan is Stockholm's only IBO authorized Primary Years Programme (PYP) school, and the unit in Södermalm is Stockholm's only IBO authorized Middle Years Programme (MYP) school. During the academic year 2010/2011 the PYP unit in Södermalm will be subject to an IBO inspection for the purpose of gaining PYP authorization.
For the autumn term, the school plans to expand by opening an additional per-school in Södermalm. We therefore plan to restructure our services and recruit a number of staff.
We are currently seeking a vice-principal for our primary school who will work according to IBO guidlines and who may also manage the after school section. The post is suitable to a native English speaker, with a strong work ethic, who possesses good leadership, and social skills. A certai amount of English teaching may form part of teh position.
Applicants must be qualified lower/middel school teacher. IBO experience/training is desirable.
