As Vice President for Uptime, Productivity and Parts (UPP) you will join the Technology Leadership Team, reporting to our SVP Technology. Together with your leadership team peers, you will set the direction for the Technology function. The Technology function holds approximately 1.700 employees at our technology centers around the world, all with a focus on product and services research and development. You will be a key driver for efficient execution through close cross-functional collaboration with our colleagues in Sales, Purchasing, Operations and the full range of support functions. As part of the Volvo Group, you will work closely with other business areas, such as Group Trucks Technology, Volvo Autonomous Solutions, etc.

What we need you to do

The UPP department is a new department within Volvo Construction Equipment with the purpose to meet the increased demand from our customers for productivity, uptime and parts services. This is thus a unique opportunity to be part of designing the structure and setting the scene for this important new function. To your support, you have approximately 300 employees on 9 sites globally. One of the first missions for you will be to secure the integration of your function by building strong alliances with colleagues in corresponding functions in Sales and Process & IT.

Your main tasks/ responsibilities will be to

Manage the product support of all Volvo CE products in close cooperation with other Technology functions and Sales regions. You will be contributing to the Uptime/Productivity and Parts Service businesses by developing and delivering Technology enablers and solutions based on market demand set in close collaboration with the colleagues in Sales.
One of the most important tasks will be to model the way for Technology cultural Accelerators (engagement, customer understanding, sustainability, innovation, knowledge, and ownership). You should contribute with your competence and expertise, and collaborate closely cross functionally with all the stakeholders, putting people in the driver seat by building a culture that motivates people to be both self-driven and collaboration-driven. Besides the operational responsibility, you are expected to question the status quo, look for continuous improvements in ways of working and inspire and motivate your peers and employees with a communicative leadership approach.

We expect that you have:
Solid engineering experience, including solid digital/software competence
A clear sight of how to capture the potential of services in an industrial production environment and a previous experience of commercial implications of product development
Been leading global complex organizations in widely dispersed and multi-cultural environment with a focus on services and costumers.
Cross functional team player skills, understands interdependencies and has the ability to work with multi-cultural team and in a matrix organization with a holistic mind-set
People and team development capability, to coach and mentor, manage diversity and build inclusiveness and develop the growth mind-set culture
Excellent capability to cope with organizational agility and drive change and continuous improvement.
Excellent Communication skills and an ability to lead without authority
High level of financial understanding
High level of strategic understanding and long-term view of industry trends
Insight in the capabilities and implementation challenges of new technologies
