hela Sverige We are looking for an experienced Manufacturing Technician to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Upstream team based in Västerås. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing up Upstream and contribute to building one of the first large scale European battery factories.
About the job
As an Upstream Manufacturing Technician you have a good chemical understanding, as well as experience from working in a production setting with ongoing process. We believe you have a good understanding of equipment as pipes, pumps, valves and control systems. You might have a relevant background from production & process industry in e.g. steelworks, pharmaceuticals, oil & gas or power industry.
You will work according to Northvolt values, routines, management system and plan. A safe operation production line is our highest priority and will therefore be a crucial part of any task in the production facility. As an manufacturing technician you will work closely with other Shift managers, Production Manager, Safety, Quality, Environment, Maintenance and Process teams.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Ensure safe operations by following safety procedures, rules and legislation.
• Execute tasks within work area/s planned by Shift manager (DCS, Pre-cursor, Calcination, Dissolution, Waste-water plant) to run the facility according to set standards and needs to meet the production plan.
• Actively maintain, contribute, and take responsibility for the set 5S standard and ambition to drive a safe, standardized, and predictable manufacturing process and good work environment.
• Actively contribute to the continual improvement (CI) by bringing forward ideas.
• Prepare and take part in root cause analysis (RCA) in alignment with Shift manager to, in a structured way, handle deviations in the production line.
• Execute First Line Maintenance (FLM) activities as daily routines (e.g., daily/weekly checks of equipment and work areas) to maintain a safe, efficient and high-quality production processes.
• Work according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), highlight when deviations are observed, and contribute together with relevant Northvolt members when updates are needed.
• Support with training when needed, on equipment, methods, processes and company standards.

Skills & Requirements
We believe that you have :
Qualifications/education/experience
High school diploma/vocational training or equivalent
2+ years of experience from process or manufacturing industry
Experience in running industrial processes via Distributed Control System (DCS)
Understanding the basics of cathode active materials (CAM) production workflow
Specific skills
Fluency in English, written and oral
Elementary computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Sharepoint)
Valuable if fluent in other languages, including Swedish
Merit with mechanical or electrical skills and preventive maintenance experience
Strong communication and appreciates working with several stakeholders
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Understands, and has experience of working with and taking care of 5S
Personal success factors

Strong ownership for the execution of assigned tasks
Improvement oriented with positive attitude enabling positive and constructive feedback
