www.fingerprints.com We are seeking an Ultrasound System ASIC Design Engineer to strengthen our team in developing future fingerprint systems for mobile phones and other portable devices.
FPC is a leader in the development of capacitive fingerprint sensors and designs the whole system, from advanced custom silicon devices and microelectronic packaging, to algorithms and software for fingerprint recognition and applications on the target devices.
The role
At this role you will contribute to our research and development efforts on novel ultrasonic fingerprint sensing concepts. You will bring the knowledge and experience required for designing the front-end ASIC for MEMS Micromachined Ultrasonic transducers. You will also take part in the system level design and ultrasonic image formation using beam-forming.
Fingerprint Cards AB product offering is in constant motion and there is a need to bring in new technologies and radically different sensing concepts into our product portfolio. In some cases, the solutions come from combining existing technologies and therefore an important part of this position is to investigate the current state-of-the-art in related technology areas, analyze IP positions of such technologies and develop FPC internal IP to secure the long term competiveness of the company.
In FPC you will be able to work with projects from idea to proven silicon in a dynamic environment. You will be involved in the system design, modelling, schematic design, layout, verification, and silicon verification.
The work location is Gothenburg but can be negotiated under certain circumstances.
International travel to FPC suppliers, partners, and customers may occur.
Your background
This role requires at least a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, physics, or the equivalent. A doctoral degree or a research background in a relevant field is a big plus. You can be newly graduated or may have several years of occupational experience of similar fields to apply for this position.
Preference will be given to those with experience in the following areas. Please highlight in your application the areas in which you have experience/knowledge:
• Designing ASIC Front-end for MEMS or Piezoelectric ultrasonic sensors
• Ultrasonic transducers and ultrasonic systems
• Ultrasonic image formation and beam-forming
• High voltage CMOS design
• Low-voltage control logic, Level shifters, Differential amplifiers
You need to be fluent in spoken and written English and not opposed to traveling abroad.
You also have essential qualities such as being ambitious, motivated and flexible. You need to be comfortable working in a growing company, where you will be expected to assume considerable personal responsibility for your own activities and the company's success. This also requires you to be a team player who contributes to an open and positive atmosphere in the workplace.
