About Us
Global Customer Service is a unit within Volvo Car Group who is responsible for the global aftermarket business. We develop and distribute genuine parts, service- and repair methods and accessories to the global market. The logistics function within Volvo Global Customer Service is responsible for the procurement, storage and distribution of spare parts and accessories to Volvo's customers throughout the world. This includes operational control of all Volvo-owned parts inventory, warehouse management and transportation, as well as the long-term development of the global logistics process.
About the role
As Transport Purchasing Manager you will have the global responsibility to secure distribution of spare parts to dealers and warehouses. We work with new logistics set-ups in project but also source existing transport networks. In this role you will also be responsible for setting the budget and follow-up of costs. Today's team is divided in segments (road/sea/air) and each needs to be updated on the relevant market information connected to their segment.
Key activities connected to the role is to perform market tests, drive sourcing 's and negotiations. On the other side, you will also handle contracts and the administration, create forecasts and follow up as well as finding optimizations in supply chain and maintaining many connections.
We are looking for
A person who is updated on relevant market information, and uses the knowledge to serve the customers and their needs. Afterwards, they go the extra mile-and make sure information is communicated to both internal and external stakeholders.
We work together and hence it is important that you are a great team player and yet, can work independently and drive continuous improvements and projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong attention to detail and has the ability to combine that with a high-level perspective for our business. You should be a person with a positive mind-set and high customer focus- with documented results. University degree preferably within logistics area or other commercial field. Proven experience in negotiating and purchasing.
