hela Sverige When analysing CAN data from a forklift there is a lot of data to interpret which then has to be translated by an engineer into an imaginary replay of what has happaned. This can take time and for people not versed in the specific technical elements and real-world usage it can be difficult to do so. In order to save time and give an immediate idea of what has occurred without the need of an engineer, we would like to investigate through this thesis how this data could be wholistically visualised for in a quick and understandable way; by means of a digital twin represented using a real-time 3d graphics engine such as a game engine. This would allow us to offer a service to replay how a truck acted during for example an accident.
In Your Thesis Project You will:
* Interpret real CAN data from a Toyota forklift.
* Implement an application using a game engine of your choosing to replay a CAN log on a virtual truck.
* Evaluate what is possible to visualize using the digital twin.
* Survey the efficacy of the visualization.
In this project you will develop an application that can replay a CAN log using our databases of CAN messages to render a sequence of events by creating a digital twin of a Toyota forklift in a game engine or another suitable tool. The final application should feature a way to change the playback speed and move the viewpoint. During this process you will experiment with different ways of visualizing certain data and determining if it is effective or not. The result will then be presented to several parties across the organization that would benefit from the application to survey the efficacy of this type of application.
