We, at Quixel are looking for a creative, self-directed and enthusiastic 2D Artist with excellent texturing skills to join our art team.
As Texture Artist, you will be required to collaborate with our art team on creating quality artworks in a wide range of styles using Megascans and Quixel Mixer. These artworks will be used both for promotional and educational purposes. You will also be creating tutorials or material for tutorials.
Your responsibilities will also include working closely with the development team, both engineers and designers, to help make our products and services the best they can be. This includes writing project post-mortems, providing quality assurance and feature testing, making bug reports and listening and talking with the community actively.
Experience and Qualifications:
• Creating inspiring artworks using Megascans and Quixel Mixer
• Creating quality PBR materials to project specifications
• Problem solving artistic challenges with creative solutions and feature specifications
• Providing detailed post-mortems of finished projects
• Creating detailed bug reports and assist the development team with bug reproduction
• Creating learning material for Quixel Mixer
• Developing promotional artworks for design elements and marketing material
• Actively engaging with the art community on social media and art platforms
• Attending conventions and events to promote Quixel, Quixel Mixer and the Megascans Ecosystem
Requirements:
• At least 2 years of experience working in a studio environment
• At least 1 shipped product/project
• Demonstrable understanding of technical art production and end-to-end modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing and rendering
• Cross-studio communicational skills (online)
• Good understanding of most CG techniques and technologies
• Proactive in picking up and developing expertise on proprietary tools
• Excellent communication skills
• Should be hands on with tools such as Maya, 3ds Max, Vray, After Effects and Photoshop
• Real-time and/or offline rendering proficiency
• Bonus: well-versed in a major game engine (UE4, CryEngine, Unity etc.)
• Graphic design skills
