About the position
As Technical Writer you will belong to the RnD team and, while autonomous, work in close conjunction with a global team of developers, quality assurance testers, DevOps engineers, and product services. You will be responsible for the technical documentation efforts, both external customer facing documentation for their Specops Cloud offerings and on-premise products, as well as the internal technical documentation. You will deliver a variety of materials that cover a broad spectrum of user needs, for example administration guides, online help, operational guidelines and user materials to ensure the effective use of Specops Software products. You will develop and maintain contact with key stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization to deliver efficient, accurate deliverables. Further you will acquire and maintain expertise in tools required to produce their materials, as well as set up and roll out tools for document management, i.e., Madcap products.
What Specops is looking for
In the role as Senior Technical Writer you will probably have accumulated a significant experience, probably closer to at least 8 years. You are well versed in the art of writing technical documents specifically for the software industry. As Specops customers are spread throughout the world and since your colleagues are based both in Stockholm and Toronto, you need to be able to communicate efficient in English, both written and spoken. Many of your colleagues here in Stockholm will also speak Swedish, but it's ok if you don't. When it comes to education you might very well have one, perhaps in writing or some form of technical degree, but it's not necessary. What you do need is a keen eye for the written word and an ability to convey rather complex text to an audience of readers with varying degrees of technical knowledge.
