SAS Technical Operations is a team of 100 people accountable for the continuing airworthiness of the SAS fleet. It performs a wide variety of tasks including negotiating and managing supplier contracts, engineering, and planning maintenance.
Engineering
The Engineering team is responsible for the implementation of all applicable maintenance and authority requirements, monitoring of fleet reliability, and the aircraft maintenance budget. The team comprises around 42 people who work closely with the rest of SAS to deliver on time, sustainable air travel.
Team & Fleet Manager Embraer (EMB)
We are looking for a Team & Fleet Manager Embraer (EMB) to join our team in Stockholm. As a part of the SAS CAMO, we are responsible for the airworthiness and economical operation of the airline'. The Team & Fleet Manager will secure airworthy, safe and economical operation of assigned aircraft types by cross- functional control, support, and follow up of all required processes and services internally and externally with authorities, OEM's, MRO's, and other suppliers. The Engineering Team & Fleet Manager will act on behalf of the Head of Engineering to ensure that strategic and tactical as well as financial targets are met by adequate and transparent communication required to provide visibility, predictability, and timely deliverables.
Main tasks:
Lead a team of about 7 engineers
Member of Engineering management team
Secure delivery of all Engineering tasks related to continuing airworthiness as defined in CAME within own engineering area of functional responsibilities.
Secure timely management of safety, quality and ARC reports and follow up that appropriate corrective actions are implemented and effective.
Secure that all maintenance data and documentation prepared and followed up by own Engineering Team meets set standards.
Lead own Engineering Team to secure development of desired team culture, continuous team members development in terms of their skills and competences, identification and nurturing of team members with high potential, incentivize team members to become "second lines" to more senior staff in specific areas.
Lead and mentor Senior Engineers, ensuring that each of them is successful in their specific responsibilities, and can also act as effective delegates /redundancies of the Team Manager in specific areas.
Perform annual assessments of staff within own Engineering Team to ensure that staff objectives are met with respect to knowledge, skills, and attitude
Perform periodical process confirmation within own Engineering Team to ensure that processes and procedures are effective and followed.
Liaise with authorities for matters concerning assigned EMB fleet or engines/APU on behalf of NP Continuing Airworthiness and Head of Engineering
Secure that all applicable maintenance and authority requirements are implemented at assigned fleet or engines/APU, including but not limited to airworthiness directives, latest MPD revisions, etc.
Secure internal involvement and focus on relevant maintenance or financial activities/projects/events for designated aircraft fleet or engines/APU (including participation in relevant daily/weekly/monthly planning and/or performance meetings and forums).
Secure that effective processes, procedures, and communication practices are in place to underpin cross functional understanding, communication, and ways of working to achieve set targets for the respective fleets and engines/APU.
Experience
Bachelor's or Master's in Engineering
Additional education within aviation management is desirable
Minimum 6 years of CAMO experience within a commercial airline, whereof minimum 3 years in a management position, and 3 years' experience with Reliability Strategy and Performance
Practical leadership experience
Experience in team leadership and development
Practical experience of managing large contracts with suppliers and internally, with associated budget processes and cost saving programs
Practical experience of business transformations and change management
Practical experience of working with AMOS maintenance system.
Key competencies
Experience with Embraer 195 E1 is required
Boeing 737- series is merited
Airbus A320-; A330-/A340-; A350- series is merited
Maintenance Information System AMOS is merited
Airbus Skywise platform is merited
EASA Part CAMO and Ops regulations
Safety management and quality systems
The operations management procedures (OMS) and continuing airworthiness management exposition (CAME)
Business understanding and analysis at a tactical level
Contract and supplier management
Practical application of LEAN tools with an analytical approach
Budget processes, cost control and saving programs
English, written and verbally fluent.
