Cab Body - Exterior Umea & Customer Adaptation is a group within the section Cab Body & Exterior Europe. We develop new and advanced cabs for our future trucks, while continuously adapting our current products to different market demands. Within the section the majority of development is made in-house covering advanced engineering, concept study and detailed development. Working in this international environment is an exciting challenge, which is placing more and higher demands on our employees.
Cab Body - Exterior Umea & Customer Adaptation is responsible for:
• Lead Engineers for the below mentioned components. The responsibility covers everything from advanced engineering (AE) to start-cost projects, PMR 's and maintenance.
• Front panel (including front lid, grille and other plastic components and hinges)
• Roof hatch
• All cab labels, including the Globetrotter sign as well as some Cab accessories.
• Development of all customer requested features outside the standard offering (CA & SVD) for the Volvo HD cab, including electrical wiring.
• Maintenance of cabs (PC04 & PC24) within BIW and DIW.
We are now looking for a driven and ambitious Lead Engineer with a team coordination role to lead a team of both mechanical and electrical design engineers, developing customer adaptations and special vehicles for Volvo HD cabs, to join our Cab Body - Exterior Umea & Customer Adaptation team.
Tasks and responsibilities:
The role is to lead all development work and coordinate the team deliveries for CA design at GTT cab and SVD projects for Volvo HD.
• Compile all customer requests (RTOs) for Cab, effecting GTT, and replay with cost and lead time.
• Manage task assignment and prioritizations (manage and distribute the work in the team).
• Ensure balanced workload
• Drive daily meetings
• Drive implementation of new way of working
• Organize cross functional meetings with e.g. GTO and suppliers
• Keep track of KPIs

We believe you have the following qualifications:
• Bachelor or Master Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to independently lead tasks.
• You are proactive
• Able to keep an overview on many small tasks
• You have an open and positive attitude. The job requires that you maintain and create a good network within and also outside the company on a local and global basis. Therefore your ability to understand and accept cultural differences as well as seeing the benefits with working in such a diverse organization is seen as an asset.
• You can be flexible within your work, take several assignments and adapt yourself quickly to different situations.
• Previous work experience as a team leader or project manager is merited.
• Knowledge of Agile / Lean ways of working
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Good knowledge in Swedish and English, both written and spoken.
The position will be located in Umeå. Some travels expected.
