About VCC's tax department
VCC's tax department shall make sure that the companies within the VCC group adhere to local tax law and requirements. The main tasks of the tax department are to:
• Administrate tax litigations and tax audits
• Prepare and review Swedish tax returns
• Optimise, forecast and initiate tax payments
• Seek ways to optimise the tax expense
• Secure that the group companies adhere to the US documentation requirements (Sarbanes Oxley Act) relating to income tax
• Prepare basis for tax accounting
• Develop, maintain and implement the company's transfer pricing policy and coordinate the transfer pricing with Ford principles.
The tax department consists of three positions; a Tax Manager, a transfer pricing manager and a tax specialist. VCC's tax department is part of the Central Finance function within VCC but also reports
to and has a close relationship with Ford's tax organisation. VAT and payroll related taxes are mainly handled outside the tax department.
The work in the tax department entails extensive contacts both within the VCC and Ford organisations and externally with the Tax Authority, courts etc. The small size of the department requires close
cooperation within the group and a need to cover in each other's absence.
Jobdescription
The tax manager shall through the expertise of his/her own and of the team members secure that the main tasks above are performed within the given time frames and with high quality. The main tasks
are:
• Plan, lead and secure the quality of work within the tax department
• Handle personnel issues within the tax department as well as participate in the work with personnel issues within central finance
• Be a sounding board for the team members and for other departments in tax related issues
• Pursue tax issues towards authorities and courts
• Secure the correctness of the tax accounting
• Act as a link between VCC and Ford and in tax matters
• Keep the company management informed about the status of ongoing tax issues
• Lead and actively participate in the work of fulfilling the Sarbanes Oxley Act documentation requirements
The position is located in Gothenburg.
Suitable Background
• University degree in law or business administration
• At least 10 years experience from qualified income tax work related to large companies for example from the Tax Authority, administrative courts and/or the tax department of an audit firm, a law
firm or a company. Experience of international tax issues such as transfer pricing and remedies to avoid double tax is a merit.
• Have a genuine interest and knowledge of accounting, including tax accounting
• Experience from a People Manager position which implies god leadership capability is a merit
• Be able to express fluently, both verbally and in writing, in Swedish and English and be fluent in tax and legal terminology in both languages.
• Ability to take initiatives and show drive for results
• Ability to cooperate within the management team and with internal and external partners
• Ability to communicate complex issues to different internal and external partners
• It is positive if you are aware of quality standards and work hard to make sure that the standards are fulfilled
