At Section Exterior Front, you are part of a global cross-functional development team with the task to develop and launch Volvo Car Groups coming car projects. You and your team handle systems and components of Exterior Front, which is a part of Exterior engineering department. The commodities you will work with is the bumper system and grille - parts with high design focus among other demanding attributes.
As System Responsible you are responsible for deliveries in the early phases of the programs as well as the Advanced Engineering that will secure the innovative car of the future. Throughout the lifespan of the programs you will be a key competence in the technical solutions of the cars.
Main responsibilities
* Secure progress in all our Advanced Engineering projects, together with existing Advanced Engineering team
* Drive own Advanced Engineering
* Deliver strategies and technical plan for our technical areas
* Responsible for early phases in our projects
* Secure a good communication with our Product Planning
* Secure benchmark for our technical areas
* Transfer of knowledge to Design Guidelines, Design Prerequisites and Technical Regulations
* System Development Plans
* System solutions described in System Decision Alternatives
* Sourcing planning and supplier contacts
* Deliver the compiled requirement on the system
Required qualifications
* M.Sc, B Sc or equivalent technical training,
* At least 5 year experience from development of large plastic parts with high attention to appearence
* Ability to deal with a lot of information and quickly acquire new knowledge
* Good communication skills and computer skills
* Good knowledge of front and rear systems of the car
* Good Understanding of our product development system
