Our Exciting Opportunity
Do you want to develop advanced silicon technology, with cutting-edge innovation, all in a single chip? Then look no further! The product engineering unit Silicon drives the development of industry-leading digital ASIC technologies, with vibrant technology hubs across multiple sites. We are looking for an experienced system architect for System-on-Chip development that will drive innovation of our digital ASIC products in the ever-evolving world of telecommunications.
As an experienced member of our Silicon Systems & Architecture department, you bring skills and insight that will be instrumental in ensuring the delivery of high-quality system solutions that shape the future of global connectivity. In this role, you will be more than an engineer; you play a pivotal role in which you lead, innovate, and ensure that the product features are systemized into functional requirements and brought into our digital ASIC IPs. Your expertise will be critical for turning game-changing ideas into real-world solutions that will shape the 5G and 6G eras. The position is based in Stockholm, Sweden. You will be reporting to the head of ASIC Product Systems within the Silicon Systems & Architecture sector
What you will do:
• Drive silicon functional systemization activities of radio product functions, features, interfaces, configuration capabilities, and sub-systems, that are to be implemented in ASIC function architecture blocks.
• Act as lead architect to develop system requirement specifications for radio signals in the user plane of uplink and downlink sub-systems, including interfaces towards the control plane and other peripheral sub-systems (e.g. processors, memories, security, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-organization teams of system architects across multiple sites (e.g. Stockholm, Lund, Austin, Beijing, etc.) on functional systemization disciplines such as radio hardware, digital algorithms, energy efficiency, etc.
• Innovate concepts for functional features by participating or driving pre-development studies aligned with future product needs for ASIC systemization.
• Systemize and architect hardware solutions for product features by breaking down system requirements from product to functional ASIC level.
• Stay up to date on key industry trends, academic research, technology standards and development in the System-on-Chip domain and spread the acquired knowledge across the silicon systems community (e.g. in form of functional roadmaps).
• Continuously contribute to the improvement of our processes and ways of working.
The skills you bring:
• Master of Science, Ph.D., Post-doc, or similar degrees in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Physics, or equivalent education.
• Proficiency within the field of signal processing, telecommunication systems and radio technology.
• Knowledge about System-on-Chip development, embedded systems, or ASIC development.
• Experience in radio systemization for antenna-near algorithms such as Digital Pre-Distortion (DPD), Digital-Analog Converters and Analog-Digital Converters (DAC/ADC), Crest Factor Reduction (CFR), Uplink and Downlink (UL/DL) signal processing, digital filter design, etc.
• Knowledge of wireless standards (e.g. GSM, WCDMA, LTE, NR) under the 3GPP umbrella, as well as network standards (e.g. IEEE 802, etc.).
• Strong communication skills, with particular focus on documentation (e.g. authoring requirement specifications) and the ability to drive complex technical discussions to a solution
