We are now searching for an experienced SW Release Manager with cross functional leadership skills. To succeed in this role, we believe you need to be structured and have a drive for solution in a collaborative environment.
What we do
Vehicle Tophat is one of six development units within Research & Development at Volvo cars. Vehicle top hat develops interior and exterior solution/systems. The unit is located in Gothenburg and in Shanghai. Software Integration & Release is an enabling ART (Agile Release Train) with the purpose to build the SW Continues Integration flow within the Vehicle Tophat unit and secure the transparency of SW status and release. We provide skills within SW testing, HIL rigs, SW integration and SW release flow.
What do we offer?
We are looking for a SW Release Manager for our solution supporting Vehicle Tophat teams with SW releases and to be the interface to the complete car level. We are offering you to be part of an exciting journey on a new area for Vehicle Tophat unit. With that comes a significant challenge for this role. We work with agile principles and to create the best possible flow and working environment. We are guided by a clear vision and strategy aligned cross the development unit.
What you will do
As a SW Release Manager you will be a coordinating leader for our SW teams within the whole solution, and you will collaborate closely with the product ART's SW release responsible person.
The deliveries for the SW Release Manager role:
• Deliver SW status transparency in a specific release
• Deliver HW (ECU) status transparency in a specific release
• Overall picture of the SW maturity of the Solution delivery.
• Represent Solution in the release meetings.
• Interface to the product ARTs and the link from complete vehicle when it comes to SW release.
• Drive solution for release impediments and test fault correction on release candidates
• Fault slip through analyses status on SW release branches
• Feedback to line organisation on need of improvement in wow in relation to SW release
What you need to bring with you?

Competences:
• Technical education BSc/MSc and a background with more than 8 years' experience within automotive engineering
• Well documented experience from cross functional project lead in matrix organizations
• Structured and highly capable in documentation of technical status
• Collaborative mindset
• Drive for solution
• Facilitator skills
• Logical mindset and a good planner
• Good communicator
• SW knowledge is a merit but not a requirement
