About the client
Excillum is an innovative and growing company founded by researchers at KTH 2007. Excillum design, manufacture and sell a unique X-ray source based on the proprietary MetalJet technology which are used for industrial and analytical X-ray, for example, when different materials need strength verification (more on
www.excillum.com). They are also working with expanding their product portfolio with more conventional microfocus x-ray tubes.
The service and support has so far been handled by the development team, but with a growing number of installed systems around the globe Excillum think it is time to find a first more devoted service and support person.
You will start this position as a consultant with the possibility of being recruited after 9 months. Please submit your application today
Worktasks
Your task will be to support Excillum's customers, wich means that the position include significant travel to the customers for installations and service.
Excillum estimates that 50% of the time might be spent travelling the globe. You will also try to have the customers serve their sources themselves through remote support. You will act as a first line of defense trying to answer questions over phone and e-mail. If needed you can, however, escalate to involve the development team. You will have the opportunity to work closely with the developers and give input and ideas.
You will continuously update manuals as that makes it possible to refer to the manual rather than writing a specific instruction to a customer. In the service and support role it is important to take active part in developing the manuals. It is also important to keep good track of service issues to document the history of systems and as a basis of charging for the service etc. Devotion to this topic is important. You will also support and work closely with the sales department in finding when a customer might be interested in an upgrade or similar.
Your profile
You have a strong technical background and you probably have an engineering degree. You also have a technical experience through e.g. a hobby or previous work. This position requires that you have technical knowledge and that you are very comfortable working with high-technology products but at the same time you need to know about great customer service. You are a fan of structured work and you think it's important to stay ahead of your duties. Sales experience is an advantage. Excillum’s market is almost entirely outside of Sweden so excellent knowledge of English is of paramount importance. Other language skills are also of interest.
