About the position
The Radiation Protection group is responsible for all matters related to risks from ionising radiation for both workers and the public at the ESS site. The group is also involved in the operational activities of radioactive waste handling and is currently preparing for the future waste handling once ESS start to operate.
As a summer worker your main tasks will be to:
• support testing of the water purification plant in the radioactive waste handling facility.
• support organising and digitizing documents related to radiation protection.
• support daily tasks related to the personal dosimetry activities.
• perform testing of hand-held radiation protection instruments.
About you
To be a suitable candidate for this position, you should possess the following:
• An interest in technical and natural sciences.
• Good written and oral communication skills in English.
• Minimum age 18 years.
We believe that you enjoy communicating and collaborating with a variety of people in an international environment. You are good at taking initiative and not afraid to ask questions. You have the ability to stay focused on a given task.
Duration and location
This is a summer work position of one month. Planned start date is 1 July, 2025 or per agreement.
Your workplace is on-site at ESS in Lund, Sweden.
